Breed Notes - 02 Sep 2012
I was stewarding at SKC Ch show last weekend on hound day and what a lovely time I had, a long day but it was nice to see different breeds that I would not normally see as I always attend on working day. Looking at the results from the Sunday, Min went along with Minches Kees Killarney and went Best Bitch in the AVNSC and also took Reserve Best Bitch in Rare Breeds, I think Min was the only hovie person there so she did well flying the flag for our breed, well done Min. Spoke to Julie who informed me that she had got the result of Gunners hip score, Zwartbos Carisbroke with a o:o score , what an excellent result, we don’t get many with this grading, although in general our breed has relatively low scoring. Got the schedule through the post this week for the club show held in conjunction with the IHF conference and the committee of our club has been working hard to ensure a fun weekend packed with all sorts of dog activities with obedience, good citizens and agility on the Saturday with a gala dinner at night, and then on the Sunday the show with foreign breed specialists , sounds a fantastic opportunity to meet and greet enthusiasts from all over the world. More details can be had from the club website where you can down load a schedule and entry form or from Liz our club secretary on 0115 9841870. Talking of shows we have an open show with classes, Bedford and district canine society to be held on the 30th September with entries closing online on the 10th September, our judge is Debbie Stansbury ( Woodbriar ), three classes, more information and entry form from fossedata or the secretary Mrs S Santoriello on 01234 851647. The schedule has also come out for Working and Pastoral breeds of Scotland CH show at the Highland hall, Ingliston Edinburgh on Saturday 3rd November, our judge being Mr Gordon Rual ( Gilcoru ), three classes available, this show being the last meeting of hovies in Scotland for the year. Further information from the Secretary Mrs S Harkins 07804 433226, entries close 29th September postmark, or online 5th October at fossedata. I have also noticed that we have a new Championship show providing us with classes for the first time, Manchester which is held in January has given us 3 classes with Mrs E Matthews being the judge, taken from our club list, one show we all need to try and support, more details nearer the time and the schedule is available to view at highampress. Good luck to all at Richmond and will hopefully see you at Darlington.
