Breed Notes - 30 Mar 2011
Thank you Elinor Anderson for hosting the Hovawart Club of Gt. Britain AGM in your dining room, it made a wonderful venue, although not the easiest house to find the first time! Maggie and Janet left far too early, anxious not to be late, and arrived two hours before the scheduled start. The motor home brigade had their difficulties, with Liz and Lynne having to struggle with a lengthy reverse around bends with theirs, having overshot the turning, and Anne and Dave were told they couldn’t turn around in a neighbour’s drive by the property owner, who stood in the middle of the road with folded arms, as they backed up and out rather smartly. It was all smooth going after that, and we finished the AGM in good time for a nice lunch. It was sad our Chairperson, Gill, was poorly, and unable to attend, but we wish her a speedy recovery. Her place was taken by Anne Travis, who filled in wonderfully, and kept us all in order. A warm welcome to Susie Thayer who has taken over the vacancy created by Lynne’s resignation. John had our chairperson draw the numbers out for the 100 club and the winner was Janet Pearce, second was Judy Patton, and Chris Bolton was third. Funds are coming on well for the 2012 IHF weekend, thanks to the generosity of the membership.
