Breed Notes - 20 Jul 2010
It was fun just being a spectator at the National Working and Pastoral Breeds Society Show on Saturday 17th July, although I must admit I kept looking to my left side to check the dogs that weren’t there! John had a good entry and enjoyed his day thoroughly, his critique will appear in due course, but his BOB was Val Shone’s Minches Jet of Zwartbos, with BOS the same owner’s Ursine v d Romerweide of Zwartbos. Winning both is not something that happens very frequently, as exhibitors decide early on to keep dogs or bitches, so very well done Steve and Val, such a shame work commitments prevented you for staying for the group.

Bedford and DCS are scheduling classes for the first time at their open show on Sunday 26th Sept, held at Moulton College Equestrian Centre near Northampton. Stella Coombes is our judge, (Mystarz) and it would be nice to give her a good entry. Stella attended our first judging seminar, and did exceptionally well, and then went on to judge a match we organized with other rare breeds, again doing a great job.

I have had an e mail from Judy Patton in Bermuda to tell us of her success with both her Hovawarts in Agility, especially black Kynyaf (Janet Kibble) bred Sadie who has earned her Advanced title, and is now working hard to achieve her Masters. Amazing to learn that thousands of miles away on a tropical island in the middle of the Atlantic Hovawarts are struggling to better their performances in Agility competitions. Small world!
