Breed Notes - 26 Jan 2009

It is obviously fashionable at the moment to come up with an unexpected extra. Not only the American woman with 8 babies (can you imagine!?!) when they thought there were only (?) 7, but Drift found a ninth puppy next morning at the vets’, having produced the predicted 8 the night before!! Lynn and Liz are “over the moon” with their first litter of 7 boys and 2 girls, all black and gold. I must say they look lovely from the photos that have already done the rounds. Isn’t it amazing what modern technology can do? You used to wait ages for photos to be developed, and now digital images wizz round the world at the touch of a button.

On a less happy note, our Julie has had a spell in hospital with her squiffy eye problem, which is baffling all the experts so far. She is now back home, but the tests go on for her. You’ll be pleased to know, however, that her time in her sick bed wasn’t entirely wasted as she has nearly completed the Club Year Book!! I don’t think she is capable of resting!! We all wish her well, and a speedy diagnosis.

Crufts is nearly on us, and we do need volunteers to man (and dog) the “Discover Dogs” stand. Anyone who feels they can help, please give Julie a call direct on 01 253 777186. Whilst talking about people doing things, is there any chance of a better attendance at the Club AGM this year? It is to be held at Liz and Lynn’s (look at puppies, as well?) in Bradmore, Nottinghamshire, on Sunday March 29th.
