Breed Notes - 5 Jan 2016
John and I attended the funeral of Jim Stockton, Gill’s husband, last Wednesday, on a suitably grey afternoon. Gill was well supported by her sons and grandchildren, and it was nice to learn a bit more about Jim, or Keith, as we discovered he was officially named! Ann Travis and Dave Stockwell and Bettina and Andrew Williams from the club were there too, as well as Eileen Matthews from Gill’s local dog club, who has judged us recently. Gill has asked me to thank everybody who has sent cards and expressions of sympathy and support, as well as those who have contributed to the donation made in Jim’s name to the RNLI, so appropriate with Jim’s nautical connections, as indeed was our singing of the hymn “For those in peril on the sea” at the service, which was most moving in its simplicity. Any additional donations to the RNLI can either be sent to Gill or direct to RNLI Headquarters at West Quay Road, Poole, Dorset BH15 1HZ.
