Breed Notes - 20 Jan 2013
Happy new year to all and I hope you all had a lovely time and the dogs are well. 2013 kicked off with our first Championship show to hold classes for hovawarts, this being a first time for Manchester who kindly gave us 3 classes for Eileen Matthews to judge who is off our club c list. An entry of 10 with 4 absentees with the weather probably being a factor to this, BOB was given to Julie Condrons Zwartbos Carisbrooke with BB going to Ann Travis Berkenbos Annvads choice, reserve dog going to litter brother Zwartbos Brighstone of Driftingsky owned by Liz and Lynn and they also took the reserve bitch with Driftingsky Mist. In Rare breeds the Hovies did well with Ann’s bitch Annvad lady farica getting first in Junior dog/bitch and Liz and lynns three dogs all being placed second in their classes, the judge being Mr Ronnie Irving. Well done to all. Thanks to Julie for letting me know the results, and whilst speaking to Julie she has asked me to pass on that she is looking for volunteers for discover dogs at crufts, you will get a pass for you and your dog and you can either do a morning or afternoon or even a couple of hours, your dog must be able to take all the fuss that the members of the public give. You can contact Julie on 01253 777186. The year book is going to hopefully be ready for Crufts so all articles, advertisements, photos etc to Julie no later than 10th February. I Recieved a letter from Dog World informing me that my blonde girl Annvad Daimys Princess was top Hovawart for 2012, it came as a surprise but totally delighted. I would like to do more regular notes for the breed however there is not much information being passed on, so please give me a ring or email me on
