Breed Notes (Our Dogs - Craig Hosie) 6 Jan 2017
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and plenty of lovely walks with the dogs. I was working night shift over Christmas and four out of the five dogs all went down with a vomiting and diarrhoea bug which is going around with two of the dogs needing veterinary attention and required antibiotic, I was certainly going around in circles and as I am writing these notes I am not sure if one of the dogs is fully recovered. Catching up on some news from the tail end of 2016 the Autumn quarter of the breed records supplement was published and in hovawarts we had 3 litters registered giving 19 puppies of which the colour breakdown being 6 B&G, 12 Black and 1 Blonde. We had one import from the Czech Republic a B&G bitch Anne Z Podbuchlovskych Hor . Two hip scores to report on Fibi Srebrne Pole 5 &3 total 8 and Kanukalos Harmony at Hightimbers 4 & 5 total 9 . Both excellent results and happy owners.

Top dog for 2016 in hovawarts has been recently announced with Gina Challenors Isalynn van Elderen’s Hof taking top honours with top stud dog going to Maggie Spencer’s Pines Saxophone at Hightimbers bred by John Sharpe & Elaine Betts and top brood bitch going to Anne Stewart’s Minches Jaunty bred by Min Inches. An excellent achievement to all and especially Gina who has been attending all the shows and supporting classes and with many BOB’s , so very well done to all. Talking of shows remember your crufts entries which will be closing this month and also the Working &Pastoral breeds open show in February will be closing on the 19th January online via, lets try and support Gina. Manchester show is nearly arrived and is the last qualifying show for crufts , we have three classes . Unfortunately I will not make any of these shows due to work, but will try and get to crufts. Some show news from Janice Robinson and their new puppy Leo , Zwartbos Moonshine Whiskey who at 6 months and 2days got first in their class and best puppy AVNSC , what an excellent start, many congratulations. I have changed email providers and got a new computer which has made things a challenge to say the least. My new email is . Please send news for these notes
